BMI
British Midland is the UK's second-largest full-service airline and a member of Star Alliance. Its main operational base is at Heathrow. The airline operates about 2,000 flights a week to Europe and America, and also provides low-cost regional flights within the UK (Aberdeen, Belfast City, Durham Tees Valley, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Leeds Bradford, Manchester, and Stornoway). Destinations served include Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, the Republic of Ireland (Dublin and Cork), Spain, USA, Canada and the Caribbean (Barbados, Antigua and St Lucia). In August, BMI axed free food and drink for economy passengers on its European network. The airline has also abolished business class on all but five key routes from Heathrow, which are Belfast, Brussels, Dublin, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
bmi (IATA: BD, ICAO: BMA, and Callsign: Midland) is the second largest full-service scheduled airline in the United Kingdom. Based at Donington Hall, close to Nottingham East Midlands Airport, it flies to destinations across Europe, and to the United States, India and Saudi Arabia. bmi's operational base is London Heathrow, where it holds 14% of all take off and landing slots, and operates over 2000 flights a week. It was formerly known as British Midland.
